What is the BKR and what exactly does it register?
The BKR (Bureau Krediet Registratie) is an independent foundation that records the credit obligations of people in the Netherlands: credit cards with a credit facility, revolving credit, personal loans and mortgages. Only credit forms above a certain threshold are registered — a regular current account or a prepaid credit card without a credit function is not registered with the BKR.
