What's the cost difference between a charge card and a credit card?

With a charge card, such as the AMEX Platinum, AMEX Gold Card or AMEX Business Gold, you generally have to pay off the full amount each month, so in practice you pay no ongoing interest but often a higher annual fee. With a credit card, such as the Visa World Card, you can carry part of the balance at interest, which offers more flexibility but also carries an interest rate risk.
