Is a free credit card just as good as a paid credit card?
That depends on what you need: free cards such as Revolut Standard, Bunq Mastercard, N26 Mastercard and Moss Mastercard have no annual fee but usually also no purchase protection or travel insurance. Paid cards such as the Visa World Card (€43/year, 365 days of purchase protection) or the AMEX Gold Card (€240/year, Membership Rewards) do include these extras, which can justify the annual fee.
